Tech Sector & Technology in General a Hot Topic for 2012
When the President directly focuses on the untapped potential in the Tech Sector to boost the economy, then you know that focus needs to be put forth towards your career goals. This sector has always been a high paying career area, but also has suffered its downfalls with outsourcing jobs to other countries. These technology companies know they have a command, and are leveraging there offerings to bring themselves an US citizens benefits. With 2012 possibly bringing a HUGE transition shift of Technology generated economic boost. There is only one thing in my mind.. Have you thought about riding that shift? Taking your computer skills you've developed over the years surfing the web, typing up reports, and putting them to the test? Its a great way to pre-focus your career with launching it into an industry that is to have a strong economic impact now and well into the future. - (A Quiet little voice iterates.. Zuckerberg's, "The Hacker Way"?? - Or is it?
In a recent letter to Investors Mark Zuckerberg likens himself to a Hacker.. I see in the mission of a Hacker its not as negative as one thinks. A Hacker's mission as well as Facebook is to promote social change. To bring about change even potentially forcefully when a better method could be adopted. The connotation Hacker is typically associated with wrong doing, causing a Virus to appear on my system. And in some instances its regular companies that are using these exploits to get you to purchase items from them. (ie. The You've got a virus, Buy our Virus Removal Software). Next thing you know your in a conundrum because you really do have a virus or spyware now and its all because of there Virus removal software. So with Facebook bringing positive light upon the term, "Hacker", does this mean that society as a whole will embrace the Hacker culture? Will Defcon, ThotCon, groups like Anonymous be welcomed in to society as those who promote change? Or will they still be the outcasts that some of us despise? Only time will really tell but maybe the workings really do bring about change? If it weren't for companies being hacked, then security wouldn't be as strong as it is? To hack a secure facility and be successful, then typically that facility becomes more secure to prevent future hacks. So in all we are changing.. Its just the way we wish to perceive the change.
Since Ron Johnson, the creator of the Apple Store, left to go work for JC Penney. I've seen a lot of press on JC Penney's reinvention. Today marked the day of the new launch. With the next generation of JCP, their stock has jumped 18.8% in just 1 day. Will any of you Apple junkies follow the herd and move towards JCP as another Trendy place to shop? Or will it still be set in our minds that JC Penney is the same place it used to be when we grew up? - http://money.cnn.com/2012/02/01/markets/jc_penney/
You know I was checking out the Tech news and saw that there are leaks that Windows 8 will have Kinect Functionality incorporated into it. There are also rumors that laptops may also have the same functionality that a Kinect provides built right into the laptop. I could really see this as being the future for computing. Although as I was discussing earlier today, it may be the Blue tooth headset Fad as well. Looking like your talking to yourself isn't always a cool thing. And if your walking down a hall and you see someone making wild hand and arm gestures towards there computer your first thought will be they finally cracked.. The Machine has caused them to go insane. Although at least for a little while I'll have fun with my Kinect enabled computing device. Until someone ask if I need to go to the Psychiatric ward. ;) - http://ping.fm/VdaYx
