I needed to do a little research last night to determine what the beat way was to easily and affordable retrieve sone deleted text messages off a cell phone. Through my research I was able to come up with the following link. This will help you get quite a bit of data that is stored on the sim card, even If you deleted it from your screen on your phone. If you ever need to recover contacts or lost data from your phone. Even deleted text messages, you can follow the link below to get some extremely helpful info. Basically with an inexpensive sim card reader that plugs into your USB port on your computer. Then using a freeware application you can achieve your desired results.
