Just finished up with the Yorkville robotics team. We have a nice scene put together; 3 boys playing soccer and guy working on his car. About 10 - 15 seconds worth of animation so far and all of it done in 3D Studio Max 2012. Next Tuesday well finish the project to submit to the robotics competition judges.

Fifth, find and install the android calendar, contacts and email and/or the touchdown app. This will allow you to access calendar, contacts, and email without the need of a blackberry bridge.

Now you've got something useful.. So for Black Friday.. You can run out grab a Tablet and be assured you didn't waste your money. ;)

Using Back to my MAC as a Support Tool. - Once of the coolest pieces of software that Apple included with iCloud, and essentially has been around for quite a while is Back to my MAC.. This software application allows you to remotely control your other MACs on you account. Share Screen, Transfer Files, etc as if they were on the same network with you. The thing is, in a support role we need to be able to at times remote control another individuals computer from a long distance to help fix a problem. The dilemna is that you can't easily plug in another account into your iCloud configuration. If you do, you lose everything. So as a simple quick fix you can build another account on your machine to log into, then configure that "Tech Support" account with credentials of the use's iCloud account your wanting to utilize. Yes this is breaking the rule of never give out your password, so make sure the person supporting your machine is trustworthy, or just reset your password after the fix is complete. Once this occurs, you should then be able to access the other parties resources from your current MAC. Baring all network configurations are correct, etc. - Have fun.. - Justin

Saw the Acer Revo at the Microsoft Store this weekend.. I have to say it really caught my eye.. The Sleek design and almost Playstation 2 slim look and feel, brought back memories of the old Sony console.. The keyboard looks amazing and the one they had connected at the Microsoft Store, looked oddly familiar.. The same as we have in the Admissions Room at the Aurora Campus.. Nice!.. Stopped by the apple store to pay homage to Steve Jobs.

Started a project over my vacation on swapping a 150cc engine onto a Honda Ruckus, we successfully got it to run today. Oh so happy! Officially ups the power to run this around 65mpg on something that is barely there on the first place. Can't wait to get it cleaned up and on the road.

This is definitely got to be a fun little scooter. 49cc to now 150cc..

I know it seems like everyone is giving HP a tank on there WebOS operating system and the HP Touchpad. But in all reality, I messed around with my touchpad last night and I though the interface was quite nice. It was easy to use, it had quite a few options available and an OK assortment of Apps.. Even surprised there was GPS functionality built in. I was pliantly surprised it integrated with Apple's Mobile Me product, and I was able to quickly setup all my email and actually do things with it. It seems that there is no stand alone Youtube or Hulu apps, but who cares, you browse to the sites and everything works perfectly. It does have some speed issues, it seems to get over taxed if you try to do too much. But nothing different than a low end computer. I figure if they actually keep working on the WebOS and developing this portion or if someone can take advantage of Android or even just make WebOS OpenSource (Ideal Situation). Then it would be a pretty decent tablet for all the time use.

Poll - So if you got the HP Touchpad are you going to buy accessories? Charging dock, Bluetooth keyboard, cases, skins?

I got my HP home server up and backed up all data and tore out the drives. Now it's time to restore it and put it on eBay.

These give you some nice options, especially if your USB Key Deprived and need somewhere to store your files. This will allow you to store and access those files no matter where you're at as long as you have an internet connected device. I'm sure there are plenty of mobile apps out there to help you access your files on your mobile device as well.

Concerned about security, you should be, its not always a good idea to trust your life let alone your data in someone else's hands. In case you do, just keep in mind, don't store anything you wouldn't want someone else to see on these sites. They still are owned and operated by another company, and the inevitable usually does happen. So good for homework, minor files, etc.. Not good for Social Security #'s, taxes, and other incriminating evidence.

No need to set the alarm anymore, it automatically sets for you. The Dash also has built in internet audio streaming, video streaming, and tons of great apps you can download to install on it. Well, I've put some mods on my Old 82 Vw Rabbit Diesel.. They were all relatively inexpensive.. The original owner I bought it from turned up the injection pump.. Not bad.. It still yielded me around 42 - 43mpg.. - Then I put on those Flush No-Holes Racing Hub-Caps.. That made it even better.. I removed the Rear Bumper.. Its a big Wind Catch.. I then put on my homemade RAM Air intake.. I draw cold air near the ground and suck it up into the intake.. This modification allowed me to have more power gain a higher top speed and even allowed me to get better gas mileage.

When I first got the car I averaged 55mph.. It was a chore going up a hill, and I typically slowed down going up. Now with the mods, I average 70mph, I can climb the hill and increase speed as I do it.. And I get better mpgs.. Which I've been averaging 48mpg.. While hitting a blistering 70 to 75mph.. ;)

All in all I'm sure if I slowed myself down did 55mph again, I'd easily break the 50mpg mark..

Not bad for a car that was made in the 70's and early 80's.

The Future of Cell Phones

So as I realize that officially Cell Phones have been determined to be a cause for cancer. Does this mean we will see advertisements just like Cigarettes?  From companies that want Cell Phones banned.. Will they say its illegal for AT&T and the other phone companies to run commercials advertising the phones?  Just like Alcohol and Cigarettes? 


Will you give up your Cell Phone, knowing that you may get brain cancer or some other sort of cancer from it at some point in your life? 

Lots of questions come to mind, and I'm sure in the years to come they will be answered..  Even the fact that I feel Apple will release the knew iphone 10g now with Cancer Blocking inhibitors.. Or iphone 10g, Now Cancer Free.. 

But will lobbyists try to push this down on the list of concerns to cover up the financial mega-house that the cell phone industry has become.  And what about cordless telephones?  They emit RF / Wireless frequencies, are they cancerous?  Wireless Network Adapters in computers?  Has anyone even attempted to validate these technologies?

I ultimately think that there will be a push to develop wireless technologies that use less cancer risk based technologies. If WIFI seems to be the answer, then you'll see phone companies quickly implementing free WIFI networks all over the US to run there cell devices on these networks rather than the latest 4G / 5G / 100G networks.  I can't imagine everyone will turn a blind eye to this, but it will ultimately take a few years before even the fact will get around to everyone.  I know that it seemed no one in my classes I taught today were even aware or concerned about the cancer risks of cell phone usage..

And will this deter me from using my iCancer 4?  Probably not, I'll still jump on iTunes Cancer Edition and download my latest Cancer Causing Apps.  And yes, surf this all on the comfort of my AT&T provided 3G Cancer Carrier service.. 

So Ultimately I guess its going to be how strongly the consumer population will react, and I'm sure we'll here of some people running around tossing paint on Cell Phone usage saying Phones are Murder or something out of the left field like that.  But all in all, I'm sure we all will keep on using these Cancer Sticks until something new and healthier comes along..  Did I just say healthier with Cell Phones in mind?? I guess I did..  Who'd have thought..  Sitting to close to the TV burned out our sight, and having a phone too close to our head gave us cancer.
